There have been lot of speculations over what would be the ideal score for a candidate to get a interview call from Banks. After seeing what is happening in IBPS Probationary Officers interviews and previous bank interview, we can definitely have some idea on what can be a safe score?
We are presenting you with the ideal score, but before doing that let us analyze some facts.
- IBPS PO and Clerk had some cutoff marks for different categories.
- Students must remember that PO exam had a little bit of different pattern in question paper, it included subjective paper too, so there is lot of difference in ideal score.
- PO interview is not state wise where as clerk interview may occur according to the state from which you had given exams.
- Different banks have different vacancies in different states.
- Suppose you take a state like Uttar Pradesh or Andhra Pradesh, vacancies there would be obviously quite high in comparison to other states. So candidates can expect cut off to be a little bit low.But since large number of candidates sit for the exams, in these states cutoff goes high.
- If you are from Delhi, Punjab, or other small states then you be better prepared for tough competition from fellow candidates.
Now as far as ideal score is concerned. different states will have different ideal scores. Different banks call candidates with even a lower cutoff, but students can expect that even though they have fixed, suppose cut off to be as 145, it would go up-to 160 in final selection. So it is advised to students with marks on lower side to avoid applying to all the banks, especially the top banks and those three to four banks which have issued notifications earliest.
Overall ideal score is 160+.
If we talk state-wise, we can expect cutoff to be like.
For bigger states like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka , Bihar
Safe score to expect final selection : 180+
Safe score to get interview call : 160+
For bigger states like Andhra Pradesh
The above marks are for General candidates, category students can take above marks as reference.
OBC students can deduct marks in about cutoff by 10 to 15. While SC/ST candidates can deduct marks by 20 to 30 marks.
Hope, you all have little guidance from this post.

I got 154.gen.frm jaipur.any chance?
ReplyDeleteYou will get the interview call, no doubt from some banks.
ReplyDeletewhat abt the cut off for kerala?
ReplyDeleteThere is not that much competition in Kerala, but because number of vacancies in Kerala are most of the time less. So you can expect interview cutoff by some of the banks in Kerala to be around 150+
DeleteWhile some banks can increase it to 165+.
But safe score in Kerala would be 185+.
i got 146 marks gen ct frm punjab? any chance?
ReplyDeleteChances are less, but you can get a chance to attend the interview.
ReplyDeleteBut again your final selection will depend on number of vacancies, bank issue for your state.
Sir, i've got 143 marks (OBC) applied 4 UP... Is dere any chance 2 get intrview call
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, from some banks only. But final selection will be hard, you will have to perform brilliantly in your interview.

ReplyDeleteYou have chances on positive side. You will definitely get call from most of the banks.
Deletei have scored 146 (SC) from west bengal. what are my chances?
ReplyDeleteIt is a average score if we consider it general candidates.
DeleteBut since you are SC candidate and from West Bengal, which has lesser cutoff, you will get many chances to attend the interviews.
I have scored 164 gen from uttaranchal
ReplyDeleteGood chances of getting interview calls from most of the banks.
DeleteSir hw many stdnts hv qualifd frm rajasthan n hw many vacancy here?any idea?

DeleteMany students have not got got it.
Sir, i ve got 163 gen..
ReplyDeleteAge:18
state:Rajasthan
is there any chance...?
Does my age matters...?
Those are nice marks to get interview calls.
DeleteAge don't matters.
But yes, If you are 18, then it is sure that you have not completed graduation. Interview personnel may prefer graduates.
Sir, im doing my graduation...
DeleteIf they do not prefer 18year old. .
They wats the sense of appearing in exam when its clear that we cannot appear for pi...
You can always appear, it is just what they prefer. They may prefer a 12th passed candidate if he has more knowledge than what any graduate has.
DeleteSir, plz suggest some books nd other sources to get banking sector knowledge and current affair...
DeleteNd plz give some details on G.D.(topics ect.)
ive got 163gen from rajasthan...
Thnx
Sir ì hv got 119(sc) from HP.,there is any chance
ReplyDeleteThere are large number of SC students who have qualified IBPS clerk, so you are having less chances.
DeleteBut hope, SC from your state get selected in PO or SSC, so that you have the chances of getting selected in final merit.
Sir i have got 174 (General) from U.P,what are my chances?????????????????
ReplyDeleteReally hope, that at these marks you are called for interviews by 80% of banks.
DeleteYour final selection will really be based on your interview performance.

ReplyDeleteHello sir
ReplyDeletei scored 152 marks in cwe clerk i belong to sc category applied for delhi.
sir could u plzz tell me about my chances of getting job in any banks.
is it an average score or below average?
It is not a bad score in your category. If it had been other state, these marks would had been called as good, but in Delhi it should be above average marks.
DeleteAnd yes, you have chances of making in the finals.
thnk you very much sir for making me clear d fact....
Deletehi I got 160 from Tamil nadu what about my chance of cracking the interview
ReplyDeleteobc cat.
Why not, you can crack if you perform better in later rounds.
DeleteBut yes you will have to wait.
Hi! I'm from Odisha and belong to OBC cat.. I've secured 191 marks in IBPS clerk CWE. But I have only 55% in intermediate. Do I have a chance? Please reply.
ReplyDeleteYou have very good chances.
DeleteBut yes those marks in intermediate can be hurdle.
If you observe, in later post, in IBPS PO interview call, some banks have included 60% as criterion. So you may not be eligible for three to four banks. But for others, you are having bright chance.
And anyway if you are having graduation, then even your intermediate marks won't matter.
i am sravan, from andhra pradesh my score is 164 from general category tell me about my chances sir
ReplyDeleteIf you see, Andhra and UP have tough competition.
DeleteThere are so many candidates applying, one thing is there that vacancies may be on higher side in these states.
So, even at these marks, in general category you have fifty fifty chances.
But yes you can expect cutoff to decrease drastically later. As far as interviews concerned, you will be called by most of the banks.
hi I got 126 in clerk , 112 in po (sc) and am from Andhra pradesh is there any chances ?
ReplyDeleteI got 131 marks.... i am frm Rajasthan nd belong to SC.... so what my chance for interview....
ReplyDeleteSome banks may call you for interview. You will have to wait but, as merit will be very high for banks which issue notification first.
Deletepls reply me 126(sc) from AP
